Our Lost Battalion Endorses Tim Shepard for Washington County Judge

Northwest Arkansas organization serving veterans, first responders, and law enforcement puts its name behind Shepard ahead of the November 3 General Election

July 12, 2026

Fayetteville, Ark., July 12, 2026: Our Lost Battalion, a Northwest Arkansas organization serving veterans, first responders, and law enforcement, has formally endorsed Tim Shepard, the Republican nominee for Washington County Judge, in the November 3, 2026 General Election. The endorsement was announced by the organization's director, Keith Soper, a combat veteran.

Our Lost Battalion takes its name from the American soldiers of the First World War who were surrounded, cut off, and finally saved when a homing pigeon carried their message through enemy fire. The organization carries that legacy forward in Northwest Arkansas today. Soper and its members train and fly homing pigeons alongside veterans as a path back to purpose and community, and they release pigeons at memorial services to honor fallen service members. Their promise is printed on their seal: no one left behind.

"We spend our days making sure veterans, first responders, and law enforcement families are not forgotten," said Soper. "We watch people. We know the difference between a man who shows up for a camera and a man who shows up for people. Tim Shepard shows up. Our Lost Battalion fully endorses him for Washington County Judge."

Shepard is a fourth-generation Washington County resident whose record of service includes local government, law enforcement leadership, and volunteer fire service. Those years of service were not preparation for an election. They were simply the work in front of him, and the people he served alongside remember it.

"The men and women of Our Lost Battalion live out a promise most folks only talk about: no one left behind," said Shepard. "To have their trust means more to me than any headline. If the people who served this country believe I should serve this county, I intend to prove them right every single day."
